On April 30, 1967, a civilian bus traveling on Highway 1, east of Trang Bang, came upon a bridge destroyed by the Viet Cong. While turning his bus around, the driver ran over a Viet Cong land mine. Twenty persons were wounded and one died later as a result of injuries.
