SOS Thai Ha Parish In Hanoi Diocese Is Attacked By Vietcong Government

At 2:30 pm in the afternoon of November 3, an aggressive mob of hundreds of people assigned by the Vietnamese communist government, under the support of many security/police forces, attacked the church of Thai Ha all at once.

Many plainclothes officers used hammers stored ahead of time at security stations near the front doors of the church, in order to break the church gate, especially to cause destruction to multiple church doors. It was a heartless act without any fear of God! (The person who caused direct damage to the gate was a guard at the ward of Quang Trung, named Cuong).

Currently, the gate of Thai Ha has been broken past. The parishioners present at the church were also beaten. As noted, Mr. Joseph Nguyen Van Tang had been ganged up on and beaten. Reverend John Luu Ngoc Quynh – responsible for newcomers in the parish, was also stormed by a crowd in attempts to beat him.

As noted, almost all people of this group were criminals and gangsters from Quang Trung urban ward, hired by the communist government. They acted violently, made threats toward the Thai Ha parish. When the church bells rang, many parishioners were at work, so Thai Ha church had no help coming. At 3:35pm, those people are still there. With the support of those with authority, these people have entered the church area.

After receiving news, parishioners of other churches formed a rather large gathering. The government is requesting to see the presiding priest, but no meeting yet. News received to indicate that the government has been planning for the destruction of the Convent of Christ the Savior (Dòng Chúa Cứu Thế) in an aim to erase the vestiges of Divinity in this area. The Vietnamese communist government is expected to mobilize thousands of police officers, and every department of the political system, in hopes of making up for their lack of Justice and Truth, in illegal invasion and plunder.

It's such an extremely difficult situation that Thai Ha parish is facing today. Earnest calls everywhere to members of other parishes, to support the Thai Ha parishioners at this critical time, while the Hanoi government has begun a large-scale campaign in attacking Thai Ha parish, regardless of law and human conscience.
